Individual counselling helps a person understand the nature and origin of a problem they have and guides them in dealing with it, relieving the symptoms and improving everyday functioning. After the initial interview, which focuses on the problem the person is coming with (its duration, its impact on everyday life, factors that help or make the situation harder...), a joint decision is made on including the person in the counselling process and the goals they want to achieve.

You will be contacted for scheduling the initial interview in 1-2 weeks.

If there is a need to continue the counselling process, further sessions will be arranged directly with the therapist. At the Psychological Counselling of the University Counselling Centre, there is a tendency toward shorter counselling because of a large number of applications.

NOTE: Considering the high interest and number of applications for individual counselling, the waiting period for counselling (more then 1 session) is currently between 1 to 2 months from the initial interview.

The application and collection of personal information will be processed in correspondence with the regulations of data protection and other relevant regulations and internal acts of the University of Rijeka, with the purpose of recording applications for individual counselling. Data processing will be limited to and used solely with the purpose of organizing individual counselling.
